The American High Speed Rail Alliance’s Grassroots Action Center is a widespread advocacy network in the United States campaigning for a national high speed rail system. Our mission is to unify all advocacy efforts that promote a comprehensive national high speed rail network. The AHSRA Grassroots Action Center consists of student groups at universities, colleges and schools; local and regional chapters plus many other individual advocates, supported by an office staff team located at the AHSRA headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Grassroots Action Center promotes a 21^st Century transportation system through online organizing, mass-media outreach, educating the public about high speed rail, building coalitions of like-minded groups and training student groups, chapters and individual advocates to take a more active role in local and national politics. AHSRA grassroots organizers work hard to engage high speed rail advocates by building political power. We mobilize and encourage our followers to vote on transportation issues in order to achieve progressive change in the United States.

The Grassroots Action Center takes on high speed rail related issues which include: pushing for clean renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and green transportation; reducing oil dependence; creating green jobs; and fighting highway gridlock. We advocate for a transparent government, transportation policy solutions that aid the public interest and the empowerment of citizens to hold their representatives accountable.
